The Hospitals Satisfaction Index (HSI)

Guided by a strong vision to see fellow Kenyans receive quality health care irrespective of income levels, the mission of the Morris Moses Foundation (MMF) is to promote the delivery of quality health care and affordable medical insurance for all Kenyans.

As a critical step in this direction, MMF is seeking like-minded partners to establish an independent call centre where Kenyans can regularly and comfortably share their experiences on the quality of health services received from public and private hospitals. This will be known as the Morris Moses Foundation Excellence Centre. In addition, MMF plans to partner with research organisations to undertake joint surveys of major hospitals on the quality and delivery of healthcare services.

MMF Hospital Satisfaction Index Questionnaire

This will be known as the Hospital Satisfaction Index (HSI), envisioned as a first of its kind objective index to measure the standards of health services as perceived by patients in Kenya. The information received will be shared publicly twice a year as a detailed independent report ranking hospitals according to universally recognised standards of service delivery.

For the very first time using hard data, Kenyans will be able to compare the quality of service delivery in different hospitals, and hence be able to give credit where its due or criticise objectively where the service levels are below acceptable standards.

Health care institutions keen on establishing their performance against universal health delivery standards will also benefit immensely from the HSI reports. In a nutshell, we believe that this initiative will go a long way in improving the overall delivery of quality health services in the country.
